Referee Information

Referees are a vital part of the success of our House League Program

How To Become A Referee:

Each season the NLSA offers training at all levels for referees, including those referees who are entering the program for the first time to those seeking promotion to the next level. Courses in our area are held at different time throughout the year. Go to the NLSA website to find out when the next one is available.

"Small-Sided" Soccer Referee - an individual must be at least 12 years old and no more than 13 years old on or before March 31, 2018.

- You will be required to attend a one day NLSA training course

- You will be authorized to referee Small Sided Soccer games for age groups of U4 to U12 level

If you don't have a strong background in soccer, or want to try refereeing at a lower level before fully committing, this is the course for you.

Entry Level Referees - an individual must be at least 14 years old before April 1, 2018

- You will be required to complete a pre-course workbook and attend a 2 day course

- Should you pass the examination you will be certified as a CSA District Referee (if over the age of 16) or a Youth Referee (if under the age of 16)

Current or former players are encouraged to take this course rather than the small sided course, but it is also designed for those who do not play.
